Context
The landscape of heritage research and preservation often feels static, academic, or relegated to the sidelines. There’s a lack of urgency, a sense that the field is passive rather than active. HILO wanted to challenge this. Rather than another research department, the vision was to create something with the energy of a special unit, a team of investigators and intelligence leaders pushing the boundaries of heritage science.
